Associate Degree Nursing
1. Is your program accredited?
The program is accredited by the National League for Nursing and
has full approval by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
2. What type of degree will I receive?
You will receive an Associate of Applied Science degree and will be
eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN (State Board Exam).
3. What is the process for acceptance?
A student must fill out the on-line application (found under
Admissions). The student must also have original transcripts from
their high school and any University/College they may have attended
sent to the Admissions Office. Once all information has been
verified and the requirements met, the Admissions Office will send
information regarding the entrance exam (HESI A2 Exam).
4. What are the requirements for admission?
a. High school or college Chemistry, Algebra, and Biology (with lab)
with a grade of "C" or better.
b. College or high school GPA of 2.5 (most recent).
c. Completion of HESI A2 entrance exam. The School of Nursing
accepted approximately 80 students per year. The entrance exam
does not have a passing score, but are ranked by the total score
received. Students are then ranked and the top 80 students are
accepted into the program.
5. Is there a study guide for the HESI A2 entrance exam?
Yes. You can purchase this study guide by ordering it at the
University Bookstore or ordering it on-line. Just search under the
name of the exam.
